Comparative Technology Transfer and Society

''Comparative Technology Transfer and Society'' (''CTTS'') was an academic journal in the field of science and technology studies published by the Johns Hopkins University Press and sponsored by the Colorado Institute for Technology Transfer and Implementation. The journal was established in 2003 and ceased publication in 2009.
''CTTS'' was an interdisciplinary and international social science journal. Its intended purpose according to its editorial mission was to "link researchers who share an interest in the process, nature, significance, and implications of technology transfer." The journal offered articles that investigated using the comparative method in technological research, engineering, innovation, and design; the role of patents, licenses, and copyrights in technology transfer; entrepreneurship, manufacturing and marketing of new technologies. The journal also encouraged an international comparative approach.
The editorial mission noted that the journal was "particularly committed to publishing articles that view technology transfer (defined very broadly to include hardware, software, processes, and organizational change) as a complex social process, considering such issues as the perspectives of non-Western users, consumers, and original producers of transferred technology; the social and ethical implications of transfer activities; or studies of failures and successes alike."
